Dolphins sign Ochocinco to 1 year Deal

Well fans it’s official, the Miami Dolphins have officially signed Chad Ochocinco (Johnson) to a one year deal.  This decision will be getting a major amount of speculation and criticism from the media and the rest of league, deservedly so.  He struggled last year in New England, and hasn’t been the same since his multiple 1000 yard reception years from 2002 to 2007.  While I’m MAJORLY skeptical about this signing,  I ask that fellow Dolphin fans wait and see what the final product looks like.  It’s not like Ross broke his bank on this deal.

I think if you’re going to sign Chad, then You should have considered keeping Marshall. But as long as Chad has a Dolphins jersey on I will be cheering for him to succeed.  I just beg Chad not to do something stupid to embarrass our team attempting to succeed.

Agreed NH, but athletes have all sorts of silly beliefs. You’ve seen teams all grow beards (or like units on the team), have other superstitions. That’s where I put the “God made me superior” views. Whatever they believe, they DO have gifts others don’t. Then again, so do healthy people, good-looking people, smart people. I don’t hate players because they believe God made them superior to me. I hate them because they do what I wish I could do (not hate, more like envy). And make the big bucks doing it. But when I see how many of them are clueless about life, or take things for granted, or aren’t “grounded” in their personality, I’m happy to be little old me, a lot poorer, but a whole lot wiser and probably better off for it.

Guys, don’t get me in trouble. I wrote this on the other side of the Pond a while ago. Religiosity is one thing and Religion another. Which is better? By now, neither.

My stance is stated perfectly in this AFC East article…………

    No problem NH…..

    Jon….

My main problem with Tebow is that he is a below average QB who deserves ALL the critisism he gets….thats what happens when you complete less than 50% of your passes….

The only reason we (the press) even talk about him is because he wears his religious beliefs on his sleeve…..thats it….when you look @ Tebow the QB…he is less stellar……

and when yuour less than stellar…and in the role of a back-up qb…..You should tread lightly….

  5. Jon Says:

Didn’t he lead his team to the playoffs and win a playoff game last year?

  6. ALOCO Says:

OSCAR…….. WE LIVE IN A FAKE TIME.EVERY THING IS FAKE.RELIGION ,ALL PEOPLE WHO BRINGS RELIGION TO FRONT ARE FAKE PEOPLE…………..

    LIKE OHIO .HE’S FAKE .

  7. Kris Says:

DC…well said…that pretty much is how I feel as well…

  8. ALOCO Says:

KRIS…TEBOW TOOK HIS CRAPPY TEAM TO THE PLAYOFFS LAST YEAR ……………….

WHAT DO YOU CALL OUR QB’S ?

    BELOW,BELOW,BELOW AVARAGE ?

  9. thavafin Says:

We live in a fake time? What does that even mean? I am fairly certain time does not even really exist.

  10. Kris Says:

    Aloco….

Wh have been having this debate about Tebow and religion for about a day now…and NOT ONE person has insulted anyone….you join the discussion for and make a personal attack on Jon for no reason…..

When you aplogize to Jon….then I will answer your question….

  11. ALOCO Says:

KRIS……….THAT WASN’T INSULT TOWARD OHIO…THAT WAS MY OPINION OF ANY ONE WOULD BRING RELIGION TO THE FRONT ..I HAVE A LOT OF RESPECT FOR HIM BUT NOT AT THAT ISSUE……..

  12. John Persh Says:

TImely to the discussion, from PFT (I’m doing my best not to puke)

In November, Tim Tebow led the Denver Broncos to an overtime victory over the San Diego Chargers at Qualcomm Stadium. On Sunday, Tebow will be back at Qualcomm for a different purpose.

Tebow is the special guest at a special Father’s Day service hosted at Qualcomm by the Shadow Mountain Community Church. The message of the sermon will be “Encouraging Men to Live, Love & Lead.”

  13. ALOCO Says:

JHON PERSH……..YOUR POST PROVES WE LIVE IN A FAKE TIME,WHEN TEVOW WHO DATES THE LIKE OF PORN STARS WILL BE THE CHURCH GUEST B/C HE WILL BE ATTRACTING ALL THE PEOPLE WITH MONEY ……………

    LEAD,MY AZZZZZZZ

  14. John Persh Says:

The issue with Tebow is that he has done absolutely nothing to deserve so much attention. Some can say it’s the media’s fault, but Tebow knows how to work the media to his favor, and he does. He feels entitled to make himself such a distraction so he can only blame himself for whatever criticism he receives. He asks for it, so he gets it.

  15. odinseye Says:

    ALoco,

I beg your pardon-LOL. (Not really, just wanted to type that).

But ah, you called the guy fake and accused him of doing something he didn’t(he didn’t bring any religion to any forefronts).

Those two things are very obvious and blatant insults.

  16. Jon Says:

    new post up

  17. John Persh Says:

Tebow seems to be in the NFL for all the wrong reasons. Is he in it for the team or in it to attract attention to himself?

  18. DC Dolfan Says:

How did Ohio bring religion to the front? I don’t think I’ve EVER heard him talk about his religious feelings. This all comes from him including that in a description about himself. What, should the guy lie if his religion is important to him? THAT would be fake. I appreciate Ohio is upfront about who he is. It makes him secure in his own skin. Part of accepting those who are not religious (which non-religious people want) is to accept those who are. If you simply reject those who are religious, you’re just as bad as religious people rejecting those who are not. Society is better with more inclusion and less exclusion (IMHO).

  19. John Persh Says:

Religion breeds more prejudice in this world. IMHO. Religion is an evil business at its core.

  20. thavafin Says:

Thats a fairly poor comment @ 1325 J Persh, since I am pretty sure most of the players are in the league to play football AND attract attention to themselves…its called marketing, endorsements and the like. Not to mention all the good things the players can also do from their exposure, in local communities and nationally. I am not a Tebow fan either, mainly because he played for the Gators, the Broncos and now the Jets so just by my ruling that disqualifies you in my eyes. But if you guys are so hung up on him and his religion then just change the channel or turn the page when he is on it. Oh wait, I forgot we live in a soiety where the main beverage consumed is haterade. You won’t turn the channel beause you want to watch just so you an complain.
    😉

  21. thavafin Says:

Intolerance on any level breeds prejudice in the world. You can put any kind of wrapper on it and call it whatever you want. File it under whatever catagory you want.
Just so long as you understand that non-belief is also in itself a belief. And what a dizzy, merry-go-round world you must live in to spend so much energy refuting something you claim no belief or affiliation to. Even though your entire non-belief (belief) is entirely dependant on something you claim is not.
